Experience/Remarks

I have one year experience in tutoring, teaching students from primary 2, 4 and 6. From them, I have learnt how to teach better by learning the common mistakes that students make. I believe in reciprocity, whereby a teacher can learn as much from his/her student as a student can learn from a teacher. Therefore, I also always ensure that I maintain a casual level of communication with my students so they open up more during lessons and are not too scared to ask me questions.

A typical lesson will consist of 45 minutes of doing a practice paper in the relevant subject and another 15-20 minutes going through the major mistakes made. I dont mind staying back a few minutes until the student's work is done. Sometimes, I will also go through their homework to know how they are doing in school and the level of difficulty the students are exposed to.

I also record down the scores of each exercise and observations I made during each lesson to gauge a student's progress in order to update his/her parents more accurately.

Commitment Level

I can start ASAP. However, I will be going for attachment at the start of next year and would only be able to teach in the evenings and on weekends.
