Experience/Remarks

I have had 6 months experience teaching in a tuition centre and have assisted in authoring/editing of primary school maths text/assessment books.

I have had experience teaching a Sec 4 student Chemistry, Physics, Amath, Emath. He has improved from failing his subjects to successful entrance into JC.

I am currently teaching Sec4 physics and Sec3 chemistry, students are improving well in their studies. The Sec3 student has improved tremendously, from a grade D to a grade A.

I am also teaching JC1 and JC2 H2 chemistry students. The JC 1 H2 Chemistry student has improved from an E grade to an A grade.

I am currently an NUS Year 2 student majoring in Chemistry. I have confidence in teaching Chemistry and instilling in students fundamentals and interest in the subject.

Knowledge of a subject comes not only from studying hard, but also studying smart. Emphasis is placed upon to grasp the overall picture of the topic before delving into the individual components. Only when the student is clear of the concepts involved can he or she be confident with the subject.

I believe in active discussions and learning during my sessions. It is of paramount importance to understand the basics of the topics first, followed by revision and exercise. Fundamental knowledge in theories is crucial in paving the way for higher education. Students are encouraged to think, understand and apply knowledge effectively and not just memorise and regurgitate.
