Other Qualifications
I recently graduated from an Integrated Programme course (Which contains only the top 5% of students in singapore) in NUS High School with a NUS High School Diploma, which is of a higher qualification than an A level certificate. I am currently scoring a 4.4 out of a possible 5.0, where 3.5 is around the equivalent of getting all A1s in all A1 subjects as benchmarked by NUS and 3.6 for the equivalent of all A1s as benchmarked by scholarship agencies such as ASTAR and DSTA.
Additionally, I score an average of 4.5 out of a 5.0 for my Physics, which amounts to getting a Distinction in H3 Physics, and a 4.25 for my Chemistry, which is a Distinction in H3 Chemistry.
I also achieved a straight 5 out of 5 for my Advanced Placement Examinations, which is pitched at around H2/H3 standards. My scores are
5/5 in Calculus AB
5/5 in Calculus BC
5/5 in Physics B
5/5 in Physics C
5/5 in Statistics
5/5 in Chemistry
A score of 5 means that the person is extremely well qualified in that area and will have a good advantage should he apply for relevant courses in overseas universities.
As published in the newspapers, as well as other references, NUS High School only takes in the top students from all over Singapore, which is why our curriculum is highly accelerated. Our Years 1-4 (Sec 1-4) covers more content than the O levels and A levels combined, and our Years 5-6 (JC 1 - 2) covers in depth in A level H3 and university level content.
Experience/Remarks
I have had experience teaching younger students such as my sister, who is 3 years younger, since her primary school life till sec 3. It was through teaching her that I found joy in passing on knowledge to people who wishes to learn and improve. By teaching younger students, I know that what I have learned since young will pass on to the next generation. Not only do I tutor my younger sister, I tutor my cousins as well.
I also have some experience giving tuition, which is when my father decided to give tuition to students whose families cannot afford tuition. I helped as well, since I have a much smaller age gap. For one particular student, his primary school maths improved from a 15/100 to a 60/100 in Primary 6 with our help.
Currently, I am also giving tuition to 5 students
1. Pri 5 student Maths and Science tuition
2. JC 2 student AP Statistics tuition
3. Grade 11 (JC 1) student AP Physics B/AP Calculus AB tuition.
4. Sec 3 student Physics/Chemistry tuition
5. Sec 1 student Maths and Science tuition
I also taught 2 students in the past
1. Gave a Secondary 4 student O level Physics, Chem and Maths tuition
2. Gave a JC 1 student Physics tuition
Currently I am looking for JC (especially physics) and Upper Secondary students as I have more experience in the subjects taught there.
Commitment Level
Right now, I can commit fully till April next year, since I have nothing except tuition in my schedule till then.
At April 2009, I am going for National Service. However, you can still hire me anytime between now and April, and I can also continue after my BMT around July.
Currently, I would be in the following areas on the respective days, so it is more convenient if you were to schedule your lesson on the day that I am near where you live -
Monday - East (Near Bukit Panjang, Chua Chu Kang area)
Tuesday - Anywhere is fine
Wednesday - South/Southeast (Near Holland, Queenstown area)
Thursday - Anywhere is fine
Friday - Anywhere is fine
Saturday - Northeast (Near Seng Kang, Punggol area)
Sunday - Anywhere is fine

When I commit to a student, I also hope for the student to be fully committed to learning as well. As long as a student is willing to learn, I will be more than willing to help improve your results.
